After seeing the new news threads the mods made with all the dates and stuff, I imagine it would have been easier in digging up the old threads if there was a sort of "date tag" in the CFM search. It's kind of self explanatory. Say you remember posting a thread in May, but you don't remember what you named it. So you select "May" in a little scroll-y thing, and all threads that were made in May pop up. Plus any added information like keywords and stuff to help narrow down the search works too. Thoughts?
this would be a good idea c: it's complicated selecting from may for example on and having to go through all of the threads listed to find your own. +1
I don't know if I'm dumb or reading this wrong, but I think it'd be kind of useless in my opinion. Why don't you go to your thread list in "Postings" so you don't have to look everywhere? I'm pretty sure no one has more then 10 pages of threads there, unless your a modu.
This isn't just about finding say my own threads. Say you don't remember who exactly a thread was made by, or the exact title, but you remember, say, about when it was made. Or you're just curious what threads were made in August. Either way, it wouldn't hurt to have.
I so need this. What if I posted this thing about a special room 403940 years ago. Then 4839483 years later I wouldn't be able to find it! (Probably cause I'd be dead...) BUT I LIKE THIS. It's such a clutter when you have to search page after page. I'm too lazy to search anything either. +1 ^^
I like it, but i could be also easy if it was for also for the exactly date, not like a month, but the date, yeah. lol like you can find all the hreads and posts which were made on 5 october 2011
Exactly. I tried to indicate that in the op, but I guess I wasn't too clear. But yeah, it has the scrolls for date, month and year, and it searches as much as you put in.
You do realize that you already can search quite specificly? See also the advanced search: http://cheese.formice.com/forum/search/?type=post There are lots of options there that will help you narrow down your search to a point where I doubt that this suggestion is indeed necessary.
I know about all the advanced searches. But as seeing as there are some options in there that are even more uncommon than this one. (Has anyone ever even used the "Minimum number of replies" option?) This would be just one more little tool to help people find what they're looking for.
