Hello everyone! During the time I've been visiting these forums I noticed that a lot of new players are unsure of how to use certain tools in their posts and after seeing Scabbesr's tutorial on uploading photos to CFM, I figured it'd be easier to explain everything else in one big thread to prevent more mini tutorials being introduced in the future. New users, if you need help or are confused with anything on CFM, you can refer to here and hopefully I would have covered what you're looking for. ^-^ Everyone, feel free to give me suggestions about what I should add on~~ Table of Contents*Chapter 1a - Posting and Posting Tools *Chapter 1b - Posting and Posting Tools (continued...) *Chapter 2 - Fixing Your Posts and About Other People's Posts *Chapter 3a - Main Forum Taskbar *Chapter 3b - Main Forum Taskbar (continued...) *Chapter 4a - Forum Tabs *Chapter 4b - Forum Stats, Staff, Members, etc... *Chapter 4c - Forum Boards and Sections *Chapter 5a - Groups Explanation *Chapter 5b - User Album Explanation *Chapter 6a - Personal Details, Signature, Contact Details *Chapter 6b - Privacy, Preferences, Alert Preferences *Chapter 6c - Avatar, Password *Chapter 6d - News Feed, Alerts, Watched Threads, Your Likes, Your Content *Chapter 6e - People You Follow, People You Ignore *Chapter 6f - Go Offline, Update Status, Logout *Chapter 7 - Search Function *Chapter 8 - Your Profile *Chapter 9 - Contacting Friends/Users, Viewing Information of Friends/Users Chapter 1a For the first part, I'll go over the basics of posting! a. How to post- This part is pretty simple. There's the Quick Reply option and the Advanced Option Quick Reply: Just type what you want to (try to keep it on topic and follow the rules when posting) then simply click Post Reply. Advanced Option: Go to the Quick Reply area, then click More Options... Basically, it's the same as the Quick Reply, just the fatter and more annoying brother. After you type what you want, click Reply to Thread. The only difference between Quick Reply and the Advanced Option is you can Preview your post when you go advanced, just click it and it should give you a look of how your post will look when you're done creating it or how it looks so far. b. Posting Tools- This section discusses these fun little tools: -I'll cut these into sections, so the first few I'll discuss are: The font, font size, font color, and smilies. There's not too much to explain here. Font Family: Click the drop down arrow and it'll give you different font options. Font Size: Same thing as Font Family, click the drop down arrow and choose from the font sizes given to you. Font Color: Once more, use the drop down arrow for different font color options. You can click more colors for Advanced Color Options. Just click Apply after you choose what you want and you're set! Smilies: Use this to view the smilies (found at the bottom of the text box): -This next section will consist of: Bolding, Italics, Underlining, and Strikeouts. Bold: Simply click the Bold icon: In doing this it should change this: Hi, how are you. to this: Hi, how are you. Italics: Click the Italic icon: In doing this it should change this: Hi, how are you to this: Hi, how are you. Underline: Click the Underline icon: In doing this it should change this: Hi, how are you to this: Hi, how are you. Strikeout: Click the Strikeout icon: In doing this it should change this: Hi, how are you. to this: Hi, how are you. -This next set will involve alignments: Left: Click this icon: to keep the text to the left. Center: Click this icon: to keep the text centered. Right: Click this icon: to keep the text to the right. -Our next group involves: Using bullet lists, number lists, indents and outdents. Bullets: Use this icon: and you should be able to create bullet lists like this: Hi! How! Are you! Simply press enter each time you need to move onto your next point and another bullet should keep appearing. Numbers: Use this icon: and you should be able to create a numbered list like this: Hi! How! Are you! Same as the bullets, keep pressing enter to move onto the next number. Indents: Use this icon: to move text six spaces to the right. Outdents: Use this icon: to move text six spaces to the left. -more in my next post, will be adding a Table of Contents later-
Chapter 1b -Our next categories are: Links, Images, and Videos. Links: Of course you can just copy and paste a link into the text box, but you can also make certain words linked to something as well. To do that here is what you have to do: Highlight a word (or words): , once the word is highlighted click this icon: , after clicking it this box should pop up: Paste the link into the text box, click Insert and POOF, the word will be linked to where you're trying to refer people to (keep it appropriate!). Unlink: To break a link from the word, simply highlight the linked word and click this icon: Images: To post an image click this icon: and this box should come up: Enter the link to the image, click Insert, then your image should pop up in the message! Videos: To post a video click this icon: and this box should come up: Paste a video link from one of the respected sites listed below the text box and click Embed, resulting in your video showing up. -Our next two are: Codes and Quotes. Codes: Sadly, I'm not very familiar with this but from what it seems, you press this icon: then this box should come up: Choose the language by using the drop box, insert the code, click Insert. Quotes: In order to quote someone you can click this icon: and this should pop up in the text box: ...write your quote in right here: and the ending results should look like this when you post: -The last two things on the toolbar are: Undo and redo. Undo: is meant for removing unneeded things in your response, say your cat accidentally steps on your keyboard and you don't know what she did to your response, you can use undo to change it back to its original state. Redo: can be used to bring back things you've accidentally removed, like if you accidentally delete a whole paragraph, redo can bring it back for you. There's also another little button that returns effects back to its original state. If you click on this icon: it can return 'a sentence like this' back to a 'sentence like this'. Spoilers: No, there is no specific button for this but to create a spoiler you can type: , put what you need in the middle: and it should look like this when you post: Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Pompomball cutiest mouse To caption your spoiler, you need to do this: Code:
Pompomball cutiest mouse
READ THIS (Move your mouse to reveal the content) READ THIS (open) READ THIS (close) Pompomball cutiest mouse Polls: Like the spoilers, polls don't have their own magic button. In order to create a poll you have to scroll down to the bottom: Enter your question and responses, check which options you want available to the voters, then create a thread! (Try to explain what the poll is if for in the text body) Upload a File: The Upload a File button is at the bottom of your text box where your reply button is: When you click it a box appears asking for you to upload your file and once you choose what you want to upload, it loads for you and you decide whether you want it to be a thumbnail or a full image in your post. After you choose which one you prefer, it appears in your post and you can delete the option to add it in again. -this is it for now, I'll start moving into other aspects of posting/replying/editing later -
Chapter 2For this chapter, I'll teach everyone the other fun buttons that you can use while posting on the CFM forums.I'm breaking this one down as well and these are the first three I'll cover:Comment Number Button: The comment button is this little thing: . When you click it this box will open up:This allows you to get the direct link to the comment so you can post it somewhere else or share with someone else.Like Button: This button: allows you to show your appreciation for someone else's post. When you click it a bar below the buttons shows up notifying other users of who liked the comment:The like button also changes into this: so you can unlike it as well afterwards. When you like a someones comment it notifies that person.Reply Button: The Reply button: allows you to reply to other users posts. When you hit reply on someones comment it quotes what they said into your text box and you can respond to it there. It also notifies the users that someone responded directly to them. The next three are:Edit Button: The edit button: is to serve the purpose of fixing one of your posts or adding on to prevent double posting if no one else has posted anything yet. If you decide to edit one of your posts, this text box comes up with what you already have and you can change it however you want:Delete Button: The delete button: is an option given to you to delete a post you created for any reason you find necessary, though moderators are still able to view it afterwards and have the ability to bring it back. If you decide to delete something you posted, this box will pop up:You don't have to necessarily write a reason for deletion, but you can if you would like to.Report Button: The report button: is something that can't be taken lightly. It was brought to my attention by a mod that sometimes people use the report button thinking they're replying to someone else, so you should be careful and make sure you're using the right command. You can use the report button to report users that may be making inappropriate comments, going off topic, or spamming a thread. The report button is a privilege, do not abuse it.If you find something to report, this box will pop up for you after you click the button:When reporting, make the reason clear and understandable. DO NOT REPORT JUST BECAUSE YOU FIND IT FUNNY TO DO OR JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT TO, THE MODS WON'T APPRECIATE IT.-I think I'm done with this chapter for now, I'll do more later/tomorrow-
Chapter 3aThis chapter is dedicated to the main Cheeseformice Forum taskbar!I will only be briefly covering all of these since the chapter would be way too big if I went into detail with all of the tabs and dropdown lists, they will all be explained further in a later time.First up, the Home tab!: ...in clicking this, it will redirect you to the CFM main pageAs I stated before, I'll be discussing this page in a later chapter. The Forum tab: will lead you to this page:This is the main forum page where you can go to your desired category, view staff online, view your followers online, and view your message and like stats. I will give a better explanation in a different chapter since it'll be too much to cover now.User Albums: When you hover over this: an arrow will appear beside it, when you move over the arrow this drop down list will appear:You can either choose to create a new album or view an album you already have.If you click on User Albums without hovering over the droparrow, it'll redirect you to other albums made by other members:The options to view or create your own are at the top of this page.Groups: Groups are one of the newer additions to the forums (the day I'm typing this up is the day I barely found out about it). When you hover your mouse over this tab: it gives you a dropdown arrow, which gives you these two options:By clicking Browse by Category, it'll redirect you to a list of categories:If you click My Groups, it redirects you to the list of Groups you've already joined:Members: The tab allows you to drop down this list:Registered Members redirects you to here: I'm not sure about anyone else but it only lists people who didn't register through Transformice itself, gives you a member search option, top posters, and the newest members.Current Visitors redirects you here: Current visitors lists all the people that come in to view the forums homepage...though you'll see a whole lot of people with no avatars viewing the forums.Recent Activity redirects you here: It shows everything that people perform, like who likes what, who commented on what, who replied to who, who changed their avatar, etc, etc...Help: gives you a basic idea of some of the BB Codes, Smilies, Trophies, and Terms and Rules:If you directly click Help, it takes you here:And here you can visit what the dropdown box listed as well, along with the Terms and Rules!
Chapter 3bYour Username: Where your username is, when you hover over it this should drop down:And this right here is the main reason why I decided not to explain every single detail of the main forum taskbar in this chapter...this would make it way too large, so I'll have the explanation to these fun buttons in another chapter, let's not worry about it right now.Just know that this holds the links to how you can edit your signature, avatar, personal info, privacy settings, etc...Inbox: The Inbox tab immediately drops down and shows your recent private messages, like so:When someone sends you a message, you will get a notice that looks like this: If you click directly on Inbox it takes you straight to all of the messages you've received instead of only the recent ones:Alerts: Alerts notify you when someone replies to one of your comments or likes it. When you hover over it it shows all of your recent Alerts:When you get an Alert, this symbol will show up (like the Inbox symbol): When you click on the Alerts tab it redirects you to your latest alerts and that can go quite a few pages back:Logging Out: Now this snazzy tab logs you out (obviously): When you click on it, this box pops up asking if you're sure you want to log out:So either Cancel if you accidentally clicked it or Log Out if you're for serious.Logging In: When you're not logged in, these two options replace your username, inbox, alerts, and the log out tab:If you click the Log in or Sign up option at the top, this will pop up:So just enter your information there. The same box comes up when you click the Sign Up Now! button. -Kay, I'm actually very disappointed in this chapter, I think it sucks, hopefully when I can go into more detail with the tabs later I'll feel better about it...this took me 13 hours to finally post, btw-
Chapter 4aIn this chapter we'll be discussing the main CFM forum page:Cutting this into chunks again, the first part will be explaining these tabs:If you click this tab found under Forums: this box should pop up:If you click Mark All Forums Read, it'll change this bold print found under the categories: Into: The main purpose is basically to make it appear like you read all of the newly posted in threads under each category. If you click the tab next to Mark Forums Read: , it will lead you to this page:This page is designed to help you find a thread that you remember but can't find while searching the pages under the categories. It gives you enough search options that will help you narrow it down enough until you (hopefully) find what you need. The next tab is: . In clicking this, you'll be led to a page that shows threads you follow:They mostly only pop up threads that you watch that were recently posted in, if you click Show all watched threads it should show you every thread you follow, regardless of it being recently posted in or not:To follow a thread, go to a thread you would like to keep tabs on, once you're there at the top right of the posts you should see a button that looks like this: . When you click it a confirmation box should pop up:Once you confirm, the Watch Thread button should change to this: . Just go back if you're done following a certain thread, click it and confirm that you don't want to watch it anymore. Now the last mini tabs under the main forum tab is: When you click it, it'll lead you to this page and...OH LOOK, it explains it for me:Just so I don't seem lazy...never mind, I'll be lazy. That description is really self explanatory, thanks.~~
Chapter 4bNow our next part will be about our own information boxes! That look like this:It basically shows how many messages you've posted on the forums, how many likes you've received from others, and your trophy points. If you click on your photo, this should come up:It displays your avatar, your title on the forums under your username, personal information (Gender, age, location), and your most recent status. The Profile Page takes you to your profile and TFM Statistics take you to your in game stats and information (I won't elaborate on these two just yet).It shows how long you been a member for, again how many messages, likes, and trophy points you have. Even how many albums you've created (will be discussed later as well). At the bottom it will show your most recent activity and how long ago you performed it.You also have the lovely mood chooser under your information box: when you choose it it will lead you to all of the mood options they have available to use:Simply click whatever mood you're feeling/mood you like and it'll be set to that.~~Under your information box you will find this: .Under the staff online now list you'll find administrators, super moderators, moderators, and mini moderators. Each classification has their own color. For Administrators: These guys are the head cheese and basically have full power over the forums. For Super Moderators: These guys are a step up from moderators and are given a few more fun tools to use.For Moderators: These guys are a step up from mini moderators and can moderate on all the boards. For Mini Moderators: These guys only have powers under a certain language section. For In-Game Administrators: The creators of Transformice get their own special pink color! These guys answer to all reports made, keep things in check and in order, and enforce the LAW. Don't mess with them, they can and will find you.~~Our next part involves:It shows all the people who have entered the forum part of Cheeseformice! Directly under the Members Online Now text will be the people you follow. If you're unsure of how to follow some, simply click their name and this box should come up:All of their information should come up and the Follow button should be where I underlined it. After you click it, an option to unfollow will come up.Under the people you follow will be a list of other members that are random and who you don't follow.~~Under the online members are the most recent status updates:At the bottom of all the recent statuses you have an option to post your own:~~Underneath the status updates are user birthdays:It lists all the birthdays for the day so you can drop by their profiles and leave them a birthday message! ~~The next little section below birthdays is:It gives you a count of every thread created, every message made, every member registered, and the newest member to the forums.~~
Chapter 4cThis next section discusses all of the forum boards. This first forum board will be the: The first section under the Main Category board is:Under the Announcements section they move the more important news and updates threads for the forums/leaderboard/in game changes.Normal users can't post threads in here, only moderators have the ability to post and move threads to this section. It has one Sub-Forum which is dedicated to actual in game Transformice news:The next section is:This section is for users to give feedback for CFM, ask about glitches and problems the forums may have, and to suggest their ideas for the forum and game.Below Feedback & Suggestions is:Transformice Chat serves a purpose from debating about topics that involve Transformice to figuring out why you can't connect to the game to learning about glitches and to asking questions you may have about the game.Transformice Chat has one sub-forum:The Map Editor sub-forum can be used to look for help with map editor questions, guides about map editor, and to show off your maps. They also host contests for map makers so be sure to keep an eye for any of those kinds of threads! The next section is:For the Tribes section you are free to create your own tribe thread. In order to make a neat and orderly one, make sure to read other threads to see how you can go about making it more appealing to the public eye.You can also find ways to make your tribe successful in game under this section.Beneath Tribes is:This section can be used for creating threads that don't involve Transformice or Cheeseformice. Even though you are more free to discuss what you want under this section, you have to keep it appropriate and make sure it has actual discussion value. The subforum for Off-topic is:Here you are allowed to make individual threads for every writing piece you may have (poetry, stories, etc...). Make sure what you write is age appropriate and keep in mind that this is off-topic and doesn't relate to Transformice, so do not post Transformice fanfiction in this section, that has its own place. Our next section is:The Fan Art section is for people that draw Transformice characters and either show off their gallery or take requests from people to make their mouse. They also hold contests under this section so keep track of that in case any roll through CFM.There are two sub-forums for the Fan Art section:The Fan Stories sub-forum is the correct place to post your Transformice fanfiction. The videos section is to post any Transformice videos you may have made. The next section is:For this section you can play all types of random forum games people create. Posts don't count in here and counting games are not allowed. And our last section under the main category is:The Interview section has threads that hold interviews from the game administrators, game moderators, map makers, artists, and other mice that got voted to get an interview. Regular users can't post in this section.~~The next board is:Under this board you'll find several different language sections that certain mini mods are assigned to.There is a Portuguese section, Spanish section, French section, Chinese section, Dutch section, Norwegian section, Turk section and Russian section.I really can't go too much into this since I only know English and don't know how they run things in these individual language sections. ^^' Sorry about that!~~The last board is:This board holds the CFM archive and old TFM forum archive. You can't post in either of these sections. The CFM archive is for locked and moved threads that come from other boards. The TFM archive is from the first TFM official forum that were moved here to keep record of the threads.~~And I'll just briefly throw this in:This is directly under all of the boards, they show all of the most recent images uploaded to user made albums.Below Latest Images is:These images are pictures shown and displayed at random.-Holy crap this took forever, I didn't even really slack off this time-
Chapter 5aThis chapter will be giving a better explanation of Groups and User Albums.First up: Groups! You can access Groups by going to the main CFM taskbar found at the top:When you hover over it and over the drop arrow, a box should drop down with these two clickable options. In clicking Browse by category, you'll be led to this page with these Group categories:Brief explanation of the categories:For the Transformice category: You'll find almost any group that is related to TFM itself. For Gaming: You'll find groups that relate to other games and consoles not related to TFM.For TV/Movies: You can find groups that involve and shows on the television or movies. For People/Celebrities: You can find groups that revolve around certain actors/singers/famous people or anyone that a person may look up to.For Music: You can find groups that revolve around any bands, singers, music genres, etc...For General: You can find almost any group that doesn't have its own personal category (like food and sports...).~~At the top right of the Browse by category page beneath the search bar, you can find this button:This button allows you to make your own group (try to make sure that there's not already another group similar to yours).Once you're here, you can make your group name, give a description of it, determine what category it'd fall under, the color that you want the name of your group to be and decide whether or not anyone can join when they want or if you want to approve people manually.Once you click Create, the group should go to its respected category and be ready for you to finish setting up and adding on to.~~When you click on your group, here are some sections and options that will pop up:It should reveal the Group owners on the left along with the number of members you have in your group.~~You'll have controls to edit your group and to edit membership.Edit group basically allows you to go back and change your group name/description/colors/and category it falls under.Edit membership will lead you here:It gives you a list of all the members in your group and gives you options to promote people to leaders in the group and to remove people from the group.~~If you go back to your main group page, you will find your description box to the right with the text you added along with the threads created in your group below the description box:To create a new thread, go to the top right and below the search bar should be this button:When creating a thread for the group, make sure it relates and is not off topic from what your group stands for.~~If you ever get tired of being in your group, they have this button found below the Create thread button:Once you click it it automatically removes you from the group.~~You'll have another option under the group section, which is called My Groups.Clicking that option will simply lead you to a page that lists off all of the groups you joined:
Chapter 5bNow we'll be talking about User Albums! The dropdown box for User Albums will reveal these two options:When you click Create Own Album it will lead you here:Simply put in the title you want for your album, the description, and whether you want it to be public or private, then click Create Album.~~When your album is created it will lead you here:It will tell you you haven't uploaded any photos yet but below this box will be a button that looks like this:When you click this button it will lead you here:Click Upload a File to choose the image you want to upload, once you've chosen what you wanted, it should come up like this:You have the options to describe the photo or to Delete it.~~Once you're done uploading the files you want, click Save and it should lead you here:This page will show all the images you've uploaded and saved successfully for this album.~~You can find the album tools option above the image gallery at the right:When you click Edit Album it allows you to change the title of the album and change the description and allows you to make the album either public or private again. The Delete Album option allows you to completely remove the album from CFM, when you click it, this box should pop up:Simply confirm that you want it deleted and it should be scrapped right away.~~There's the other option below the Create Own Album option that says View own albums. It simply leads you to a page that shows all of the albums you've created:~~-This one didn't take as long, I'm happy :3-
Chapter 6aAlright kiddies! These next few chapters are very likely to make your head hurt! (My head already hurts just from thinking about doing everything.) The next few parts of chapter 6 will revolve entirely around this huge thing:BUT DON'T WORRY, I have everything split into parts, so it won't all be one cluttered mess! Now moving on!~~Our first section is dedicated to: Seems simple enough!~~ is the first thing to cover on this small list! When you click on Personal Details you are led to a page that you can customize so it describes you a little more! We've discussed your status in the past, but this is another place you are able to update it. Simply type what you want your status to say (as long as it stays within 140 characters), and an option to save it is at the bottom of the page. This also displays your current status beneath the text box!Beneath your status message should be:Here is another alternate place that you can change your avatar! As it says next to the avatar image, click on it to change it. When you click it a box should come up giving you different options to choose your picture! After your Avatar option comes:Pretty self explanatory, choose your Gender, enter your Date of Birth, then you have the option of hiding your birthday entirely or only your age. Keep in mind that once you set your date of birth, you can't change it again, you'll have to ask an administrator to change it for you, be careful. We're saving the Privacy Settings for another day, okay. After your Gender and Date of Birth is:This is pretty simple to understand as well. Just answer where you live, where you work, your homepage, what community you play in on Transformice, and the room people can mainly find you in on Transformice. And the last section for Personal Details:This is basically a free for all. Write a biography about yourself, describe yourself in one word, type up your favorite quote, add a picture, share a story or poem, anything! (as long as it's appropriate)! The save button at the bottom saves any and all changes made in your Personal Details page.~~ leads you a page that allows you to edit your signature that shows up in your posts on threads. When you click on it, this should come up:Simply add what you want to say on it or add any pictures, make sure to keep it appropriate and make sure it follows the signature policy. After you're done fixing up your signature and making sure it meets the signature guidelines, you can either Save it or Preview it, Previewing it allows you to see what it will look like when you post:If you're not happy with it, you can edit it again, if it looks fine, Save and continue on with life.~~ allows you to add in any place others can contact you through! The top boxes show your current email address that you have entered, you can change it later but you have to enter your CFM password in order to change it.Messaing Preferences allows you to say whether you want messages sent to your email address, who you will accept private messages (conversations) from (either only people you follow or all members), and gives you the option to receive an email when you get a new private message.Identities gives you space to enter links to these social sites. Just put the link to your profiles if you want other users to be able to reach you through them as well. When you press Save it saves any and all changes made to your Contact Details page.~~First part out of like 93249823 parts to this chapter is done! Stay tuned, folks!~~
Chapter 6bHi, I'm distracted atm, let's see how long it'll take me to finish this section. This section will be discussing:Luckily for me, the explanations are simple so YAY FOR ME.~~ is a lovely page that you can edit who you want to view all of your personal and contact details. For this small section, you can choose to hide from people that you're online and your activity (mods can still see), along with choosing whether or not you're okay with receiving emails from the administrator of the site. The next part involves:Like in Personal Details, you can either choose to hide your birthday or your age. After Date of Birth Privacy, you have:For these, you can edit who you want to see viewing your profile, information on your profile, who can post on your profile, and who can see activities you've been doing recently. The last part under Privacy is:Here you can choose who you allow to send you private messages and view your identities (Facebook, Twitter, any social site information). When you press Save, any and all changes made on this page will be saved.~~ takes you a page where you can edit your style, language, timezone, and a few other things.Style changes the font when people post and the style of the forum boards. You have the options of the default: Spikey Verdana 3 and Liquid Georgia. After Style is:These two options allow you to choose your language you fluently speak and the timezone you're in so the time on the forums suits the time where you live. The last part in Preferences is:This gives you the options to watch threads you create (and receive email notifications for it), which text editor you want to use, the option to disable/enable signatures, and whether or not you want to show your online status. When you press Save any and all changes made on this page will be saved.~~ is our final part in this section. It's used to edit which alerts you want to receive and which alerts you don't want to receive. The first part to Alert Preference is:These alerts revolve around threads you're watching and what you post in other threads. For this small part you can disable alerts from threads you watch, when people quote you, and when people like your messages. These alerts come from your or other users profiles. You can disable alerts when people post on your profile, when someone comments/likes a status you made, when someone posts on a post you put on another users profile, when you post on someone else's post and someone responds, or when someone likes one of your profile post. The next pat is:This allows you to disable alerts when someone follows you or when you unlock a new trophy (you can get trophies when you get a certain amount of likes/messages).And the last part:For Albums, you can disable alerts for when someone comments on one of your album images, when someone else comments on another image you commented on, when someone likes one of your album images, or when someone likes one of your albums. When you click on Save, it saves any and all changes you've made on this page.-AND DONE, I started this at about 1 pm, it is now almost 7 pm. c:< I'll continue on this tomorrow, plus, I updated the staff colors!-
Chapter 6cHello kind people! I'm going to make up for my laziness and adding several new chapters today! We're going to continue on with that giant drop list that we started in Chapter 6a.The next parts we'll be working on are:~~ is the first bit we'll discuss. It's really simple and I've explained it before but it's on the drop list so I'll do it again. When you click on Avatar, this should pop up:All you have to do here is simply click on Browse, choose a picture you want for your avatar, then press Okay at the bottom right.Check Delete current avatar and press Okay for your avatar to be removed.~~ is our last bit for this chapter section. When you click on it, you'll be redirected to this page:On this page, you're allowed to change your password!Simply enter your current password at the top, then type your new password below, then confirm it.After you've decided on a new password and properly entered your current one, press Save and that should be your new way to access your account!
Chapter 6dFor this section, we'll be discussing:Here we go!~~ is first up on the list! When you click on Your News Feed it should lead you to here:This page displays the current activity of people you follow on the forums. It lists what they post on threads, content they like, what they post on other peoples profiles, what they post on another persons comment, and it shows their status updates.Remember people who follow you can view your recent activity here as well.~~ lists off any notifications you've received when people like your content, quote a message you've made, comment or like your status, comment or like a photo you uploaded or an album you've created. This is what it should look like when you click on it:It lists off the most recent alerts you've received and moves down from there!~~ is a different way that will redirect you to threads you're following. When you click it, it should lead you here:It shows you the most recent thread posted on that you're following on this page, when you click on Show all watched threads beneath the listed threads at the bottom left, it will reveal all of the threads you're following regardless of them not being commented on recently.~~ is the first thing we'll briefly discuss (since there's not much to explain). When you click on this option, you'll be moved to this page:It shows you a list of all of the recent likes you've received for comments you post, your status updates, wall posts, and pictures you upload or albums you create.~~ is just as simple to explain and understand as the likes you've received page. When you click on your content you'll go here:This page shows everything you've commented on and liked starting from the most recent thing you've posted and then it moves its way down from there.-I was gonna add more but it's 5 am and I'm tired, I'll do it later-
Chapter 6eAlright, I'm back for the day! Let's see how much of the tutorial I'll be able to complete before I get distracted beyond repair. The next sections for the master drop list will be:Yay for more easy things to explain!~~ is first up!When you click on this, it will redirect you to this page:Here you'll be allowed to view all of the people you're following. It gives you the option to unfollow them at the right of their name.At the very bottom you have an option to enter a members name manually and add them to the list of people you follow. When you click on Save, it will save any and all changes made on this page.~~ is similar to People You Follow, except you only put people you dislike on here. ^-^When you click on People You Ignore, you are taken to this page:Sadly, I really don't have anyone on my ignore list...yet...but when you want to ignore a member, you can go here and enter a users name manually, then press save and they should be added to your ignore list.I just used a friend as an example as to what it should look like after they're added it should look like this:You have the option to Stop Ignoring them at the right of their name. And that's it for this section!
Chapter 6fNow the final section to the master drop list! We did it!!The final section will consist of:~~ allows you to check/uncheck the box. If it's checked, people can see that you're online and what you're browsing/viewing.If you uncheck it, you'll be hidden from the people who follow you and the members online list, though the CFM Staff can still see if you're online or not.~~ simply logs you out. When you click on this one, there is no confirmation, so you are logged off whether you like it or not, even if you clicked it by accident.~~Beneath your Online Status and Logout button, you'll have this:Which is another way you can create a new status. From:To!: Just remember to stay within the 140 character limit. c;-Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, I finished the drop list. Expect a more in depth explanation of the Search function, then an explanation on profiles after that!-
Chapter 7This chapter will give a more descriptive explanation of the search functions. There are several different ways to search something on CFM, here are a few ways to do so:~~At the top right of the CFM forum, you will see this text bar:When you click on the Search Bar, a list of options drops down and you can start entering the information you have to find what you need:Enter in keywords to what you're looking for, you can check or ignore the box that asks Search titles only (if you check this, it'll only link you to threads with similar words to what you've entered and keep out posts made within threads). If you know the person who created the thread or post you're looking for, enter their name.Beneath the Posted by Member option, you will find:When you click on the Newer Than tab, a box pops up with dates. You can use this to set a date that will cancel out posts and threads made from any day past that in your search. After you've entered all of your information, click on Search and it will give you what it finds.~~Next to Search are two other options:A More option and a drop down arrow option. When you click on this: A list of other options should drop down:You can search for threads recently commented on/created, threads you've made, posts you've made, and posts you've made on a persons profile.~~When you click on this: it will lead you here:This gives you more options to search for something you're looking for. Enter your keywords, decide if you only want the threads to pop up, enter the latest date you want the search options to be coming from, then choose the section of the forums it may be in.When you're done, click on Search and it will redirect you to your options.~~If you click on Search Threads and Posts that's next to Search everything along the top, you'll be moved to here:Start off by entering your keywords, post the name of the member that made the post (if you know who they are).Check or uncheck what doesn't apply to what you're trying to search.Beneath that section is:You can set the latest date you want the search function to show you from and set a minimum number of replies.Following up below that is:Here you can choose the thread prefixes and the section of the forum what you're looking for may be in so it can narrow down the search to only certain sections and not the entire forum. The last part to this section is:You can decide the order your search results come in by deciding one of the two options given. If you check Display results as threads, it will only give you the name of the thread it's found in and not the exact post where it's at.~~If you click on Search Profile Posts that's next to Search Threads and Posts, this should be shown to you:Here you simply have to enter the keywords to the post you're trying to find, who posted it, on what persons profile it was posted on, and you can set the latest date so the search function doesn't give any other options later that are from a later time.-I'm done with this chapter!!-
Chapter 8This chapter will revolve around your profile and everything you see on it!We'll take this step by step, starting here:This shows up at the top of your profile. It shows your current avatar, your title for CFM, your gender, age, and location. Beneath your personal information shows your status and when you added it. Beneath your recent status reveals the last activity you performed on CFM and when the time you performed it.The tabs will be discussed later on in the chapter.~~ can be found along the left side of your profile below your avatar. This shows you your current mood, the time you last performed an activity on the forums, the date you joined the forums, how many messages you've posted on the forums, the likes you've received from others, your trophy points, and a link that leads your to your Transformice stats page.~~Beneath your CFM information is:Two boxes that contain people you follow and people who follow you.At the top right side of the boxes reveals the number of however many people you're following/are following you. You can click on that number or the bottom right that says 'Show All' to see everyone you're following/who is following you.~~ is beneath your followers. This box mainly contains more information about you, your gender, exact birthday and age, location, and occupation.~~Now we'll move onto the tabs you'll find at the top of your profile. When you visit your profile the first tab that will be open is:Here you can update your status:When you update your status, it'll move onto your profile posts page where everyone can view it when they visit your profile. You're able to edit your status, delete, and apparently report (most likely to be used when someone comments with something inappropriate).Friends and other users are able to comment on and like your status.---Friends and other users are also able to post a message on your profile page:You can delete or report a message posted on your profile as you see fit and like and comment on the post.~~The tab next to profile posts is:This tab shows the recent activity you've performed on Transformice. From liking a post someone has made to commenting on a thread, it'll show up on here for you and others to view.~~The next time is:This tab is meant to only show all of the content you've posted and leaves out the posts you've liked.~~After Postings is:On the Information tab you can preview what your signature looks like. You can also find your Personal Information and About Me section under the Information tab:This again shows your gender, birthday and age, location, occupation, but also adds your about me section beneath the other information. is the last section underneath the Info tab.It gives you two links that leads to posts you've made and threads you've created.~~The Groups tab comes next! Here it just shows all the groups you've joined on CFM so you have easier access to visiting the page and allowing other members to see what you've joined.~~The last tab is:The Albums tab show the albums you've created on CFM so you can easily access them to modify/view and to let others see the albums you've created as well!-I FINISHEDDDDD, turns out I'll be doing one more chapter so hopefully I'll finish that one as soon as possible so we can finish this tutorial :3-
Chapter 9FINAL CHAPTER. This chapter will focus on friends and contacting other users on CFM!~~First, we'll briefly discuss this:This information box comes up when you click on another users name or avatar. It's similar to when you click your name except this information focuses on the individual person and you can see all of their information instead of your own.On this box, you have the options to visit their profile page, start private messaging them, can follow/unfollow them, and view their TFM rank page. You can also see their posts, likes, date they joined CFM, trophy points, albums they've created, and the time they last performed an activity.~~If you click on: you will be taken to the users profile. This will show up at the top of their page with more information. It shows their avatar, username, title, gender, age, location, most recent status, and their last activity. At the very right of the top of the profile page you will see a new option that isn't shown on your own profile, which is an option to follow or unfollow the user.Beneath the follow option will show text that tells you whether their following you or not following you as well.A persons profile basically looks like yours, except it's customized to fit that user instead of you.--Beneath their personal information you have a text box that you can use to post a message on their profile:When you type out what you want to say, click on the Post button and it should end up looking like this:The person whose profile you posted on and other users can view, like, and comment on the message. It can be edited as well, along with the option to delete the post or report the post.--You can also see status updates people make on their profiles:You have the option to like, comment, and report the statuses.~~The next option you can use on the information box for another user is:Start a Conversation is basically sending the user a private message. When you click on Start a Conversation, you will be redirected to:Here you can start adding what you want to start the private message. It's like posting in a normal thread except what you create is only between certain people you decide to add to the conversation and you have the option to lock the conversation so no one else can post anymore and give the option to allow other people in the conversation to add in more people.Start off at the top with Participants and add the name of the users who you want to see the conversation, add the title of the private message, type in what you want the message to say, and edit anything else that you need to edit.--When you're done setting up the conversation, click on Start Conversation and you'll be led here:Here you can view what the message looks like after you've created it.To the right of the message you'll see two boxes:The top box says Conversation Info, which gives you more information about the conversation which include:-how many people are a part of the conversation-how many replies were made in the conversation-the last time someone replied to the conversation-the last person to reply to the conversationThe box below it says Conversation Participants, which only shows which people are a part of the conversation. At the bottom of that box you have an option to Invite More, when you click on that, this pops up:To add more users to the conversation, type in their username (make sure to separate each name with a comma), then click on Invite Members for them to be added.--Above the conversation you'll have these three options:The first option you have is Edit Conversation. When you click on that, this comes up:Here you have the option to change the title of the conversation, fix if you want to allow others to invite other people to the conversation or not, and to lock the conversation so no one can respond to it anymore. After you're done editing it, press Edit Conversation to save the changes made to it.Mark as Unread simply marks to conversation as unread, which can be useful to remind you to read it again later.Leave Conversation allows you to exit the conversation so you get no more alerts from it when someone responds.~~The next option on the information box is:, you're not redirected to anything when you press on this, it simply allows you to follow or unfollow the user and see if whether or not they're following you when you hover over it.~~ is the last option to click on, and that leads you to their TFM ranking page.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~And there you go! I'm finally done with the Tutorial! (I think). If anyone else has noticed I missed something of dire importance, please post on here and I'll see if it's necessary to do another chapter on it. Thanks for the patience guys, I'm so glad I'm finished! ^-^
