Transformice Questions

When did you start playing Transformice? How did you find it?
I first started playing Tranformice in july 2010, and I have been playing it ever since. I found the game on Kongregate, it was one of the new multiplayer games, so I decided to give it a try.

Where do you get the ideas for your maps?
It's all in my mind ;)

What is your favorite type of map to make?
I enjoy making racing-like maps that can be completed by almost anyone, this way they keep active in normal rotation.

What elements do you like to put in your maps?
I've been experimenting with ice grounds a lot lately, but I enjoy using every type of ground, except water and air, to be honest.

What map are you most proud of?
That would probably be @485985. It is my first real good artmap, it uses the color pattern on ice grounds to make a throwing star.

What map was most frustrating for you to make?
I remember trying to figure out how to make an elevator using Rype's rotation glitch for several days. The @code of that map is @401690

How good do you consider yourself to be at Shaman?
I am a big fan of hardmode, and I consider myself to be a bit better than your regular hardsham. I am still trying to get better at it, so if you have any shaman tips, I would love to hear them.

Any memorable moments from Transformice?
I have a lot of those, but I am happy [to] share one:
So... I used to play in room 100 for over a month before I started playing in the 1-10 rooms, and I had only ever heard people tell stories of legendary moderators that could ban players that were violating the rules.(moderators don't tend to play in the more private rooms) So one day I was too lazy to /room 100 for a change, really I was surprised when I first heard music. I checked my browser if I had any sites open that could have caused the music, and I was convinced I had a virus on my computer, but since I didn't really know what to do against it, I started playing again, and then I read the chat, where people said that they heard music as well >.<

Favorite aspect of TFM?
I don't really have a favorite aspect, it depends on my mood, really. Right now it is bootcamping.

Which of the vanilla maps is your favorite?
Hard question, I think I will go with map 119, since I have have my own shaman solution for it that requires me to fall, jump and spawn a c anchored plank.

How long did it take you to learn how to wall jump? (be honest :p)
I was able to climb a normal wall without cheese in about 2 weeks, I didn't really understand the mechanics behind it back then, I just pressed the keys in the order I was told to, it took me a few months to figure out the mechanics and how to do the other forms of wall-jumping. (trampoline, rotated ice, lava,)

In your professional opinion, who is a better player: Meli or Tig?
I haven't really seen them playing alot, but I think I'd go with Tig. Tig has exported a non-vanilla map that requires you to do a corner jump and some wall jumping. I have not seen Meli doing anything trickier than jumping, running and showing off her white fur color. So Tig is probably the better player.

What is your opinion on the recent/upcoming updates? (graphics, fur colors)
I think the background and new ground part of the graphic update were okay, but the background items messed it up a bit. Many map makers abuse these items to hide the cheese and/or holes.
When it comes to a possible fur color update, I just hope that there will be only a few natural colours available to normal mice, since a variety of colours would make the mice look unnatural.
I hope that if the devs are not planning any more updates concerning graphics and grounds, and that they will realise that more updates on this would make the game harder for all mice; It would make it difficult for you to find out where you are, and what are the properties of the ground you will have to walk/climb next.
As for other updates, I wish that we would be given more shop items (quite a few mice have all shop items), and more options for a tribe, like creating your own ranks, and being able to rank/kick offline members as Spiritual Chief/Tribe Founder. More hardmode titles would also be great^^

How good do you consider yourself to be at Bootcamp?
I consider myself to be a good bootcamper, though there are some people out there that have completed more bootcamps, and love to remind me of it.

What is the origin of your username?
When I was younger, I needed to find a nickname suitable for games. I picked this one because I liked my home, and I was not very creative, sorry. :( I have been using this name for most other games, and I chose the name for my Kongregate account as well. So when I registered to TFM, I thought it would be useful if I took the same name, so people could find me on Transformice if they wanted to.

What was your favorite TV show as a kid?
Uhm, I like Oprah :3

Were you a well-behaved a child or a trouble maker?
I am only 16, and when it comes to real life I am not that talkative, I prefer listening. However, on Transformice, I often manage to have 4 or 5 conversations going at a time. Sorry to all the people that got a whisper that was not meant to go to them. <3

Do you have any pets?
Does a mouse in a flash game count?

What are your favorite video games?
I've played Age of Empires(1-3) with my brother before I started playing Transformice.

What are your hobbies outside of TFM?
I play volleyball, and I like to walk. Most of my other time goes to school stuff.

What is some of your favorite music?
I listen a lot to Bon Jovi, Nightwish, The Fray, Linkin' Park and Toto. I also enjoy listening to the The Beatles (Yellow Submarine! <3) and the Scatman :D

What is one thing you can't live without?
