Shaman Techniques

Shamans have the ability to summon physics objects in order to help their disciples reach the cheese. These objects must be assembled in creative ways to form contraptions to solve a given puzzle. Each contraption has a certain context in which it should be used, some being time consuming to make and others being quick and dirty solutions.

Air ships

A simple airship.

An airship (also known as a failboat) is an independently floating platform used to reach heights or move across gaps. An airship consists of a platform for mice to rest on with balloons and/or runes to lift it. Airships are fun but not entirely efficient or safe. Another way to make a new airship is by placing a board on the ground. Then with a triangle in mind, place a yellow nailed board on the original one at the left of it with a 45 degree angle up. Attach another yellow nailed board to the 1st yellow nailed board at a 45 degree angle facing down. When ready get in and place balloons for liftoff.

Note: Try to avoid the right side of this until ready to exit.


Battle and Blocking

A blocking technique.

Several maps require Shamans to compete over who rescues the most mice into their own color-coded hole. Do your mice a favor and brush up on your battle skills so a fellow mouse doesn't knock you over the edge. During battle, a Shaman traditionally attempts to block the other Shaman's hole, and in other cases Shamans must block access to a particular area. Shamans should be careful they do not trap mice in the blocked-off area or block both holes.


Bridges

Bridges are any contraption designed to cross over a gap. Shamans must be careful when constructing a bridge as to ensure it doesn't topple over or trap any mice beneath it. Most bridges are built with long planks and supported by transparent short planks.


Elevators

An elevator is any device created by the Shaman that lifts mice vertically. Many elevators utilize the motor anchor.

Another type of elevator as in the one to the right is the classic short plank 'permanent', acsessable by pressing B. You then balloon the plank, and permanent that which the short plank, give it a box, and then have it explode upwards with the mice on it. More effective than the picture to right,


Pancakes

A pancakes is a large stack of planks summoned one on top of the other in rapid succession. once finished with it, the Shaman must cannon the boards from underneath, unless he/she chooses to troll the mice. it is popular among certain groups of veteran players. (lovingly dubbed "pancakes" by the veterans of salon v or also "mexivators" by the majority of veterans.)


Ramps

A simple ramp

Ramps are short contraptions built by the Shaman to reach an elevated platform. They often must be constructed in tight spaces, and must avoid trapping mice behind them or blocking an objective. Simple ramps are constructed from planks, but more complex ramps may incorporate other items.


Perch

a type of ladder.

Perchs can be created by the Shaman to help the mice get the cheese or enter the mousehole if it is to high too reach. Most can be build with boxes and planks.


Stairs

Stairs are created in two ways. The first is to create a box, permanent it, then put another on the corner, and so on.

The second way is to connect invisible planks and create small planks to jump on.

Catapult

A Catapult is a contraption made to launch mice to high or far places, that they can't get to by regular means.


Other Useful Techniques

Place a B anchor plank under the target you want to launch. then place a big c anchored planks on one side of the B anchored plank. next, use a drag to the direction of the c anchored planks. after the creation is up against the wall, place another drag as shown in the picture.

NOTE: You can also skip all these steps if you wish, all thats needed is a bullet not moving, and then you make a bullet under yourself.

In several stages there are dangerous exploding objects that will kill mice if they get to them. The general technique here is to use invisible objects to create a corridor through which your mice can safely run. This can be done either as a series of invisible boxes, or by connecting a large plank to one side and support it on the other with another large box, which tends to cover more ground. Remember that Spirit affects objects - you can build a couple boxes around your mice and then spirit your mice and the boxes to the other side (this requires the mice to not blindly dash forward).


Box Spam

Spamming boxes is useful sometimes.

On some levels, the cheese is off the ground. Creating a lot of boxes (or box spamming) could create an improvised floor, allowing you to get across gaps, although this isn't very practical and often results in poor little mouseys being trapped in big scary boxes. To prevent mice from knocking the boxes out of place, create a red anchored short board over the boxes.


Springboard

First ghost a short plank vertically with the world anchor (B) so it's bottom is near the ground, and then attach a long plank to the bottom of it with a rotating anchor (N) in it's center. As it rotates, knock the long plank's top end to the left either by jumping on it or using a cannonball, and as it draws level with the ground, attach a large crate to it's now left side with a free anchor (V). At this point it will either slide into a position similar to the picture (right), or the crate will get stuck level with the ground. If this happens, add balloons until it's free. Once the crate is in the correct position, add a second ghosted short plank with a world anchor just above the first as per the picture, otherwise the springboard is liable to break. Finally, just add balloons to reach your desired strength (be aware that every additional balloon increases the chance of it breaking.)

It can be helpful to make the springboard completely invisible, and then add a short plank with a rigid anchor (C) as the final step to avoid mice disrupting it's construction.


Second Method


First make a world anchored (B) Large Plank (ghosted) then make another ghosted large plank with a motor (N) on the left side and attach it to the first plank at an angle. Now, make another ghosted large plank with a motor (N) in the middle and attach it to the second ghosted plank. Make an anvil (this can be ghosted if you want it to be) with a yellow pin (C) and attach it to the left side of the second ghosted plank. Then make a small plank with a yellow pin (C) and attach it to the right of the second platform that you made. The second picture will show the result.

Springboard (Method Two)

Ghost red plank on the ground, then attach (C) long ghost plank, you can anchor it for sure with ghost small plank. Finally use long plank with free anchor at the top of it. Use small box to prevent falling mice. Fill all of the free space with balloons.


Anvil swing

Attach a transparent plank with a red anchor to the sky and anvil the tip of it. Make these as many as you need to get to your destination. It's not as practical as a normal bridge, but if you want to build something else - this should do the trick.


Balloon lifting

Attach numerous balloons with a c anchor (yellow) to a non-stationary (dynamic) object. Use as many as you need to lift the object. this is useful in levels such as 24, 2, and any level where there's a big block in the way, or you can't get rid of something by shooting it. it can also be used for trolling on 72, 75 (if you can get them onto the blocks before they fall), 115 (if you can manage to float away before they get to the block), (if you can beat the runners)100, and just about any map where there is a dynamic object that is essential to completing the map.


Big Ramp Building

A helpful way to start a big ramp or bridge

Make a invisible (space) box and secure it with a b anchored invisible plank (red), then add a c anchored box (yellow), to make a step, then add a plank with a c anchor (yellow) by rotating it 45 degrees clockwise (scrolling down until it faces to the top-left) and press c twice to make the anchor at end. This is helpful to start a bridge or ramp, as people all over the surface can or platform can access it ( In a normal ramp, sometimes people are trapped) and also, you can reverse the structure to facing right or use a long plank for the ramp. WARNING: If you summon the plank too low, mice on the other side will be trapped, many people use this technique, but often to no use, as the whole point to it is so mice all over (in front and behind) the ramp can go up it. Trolls may hide in invisible box and to remove them, you can spirit them and then cannon them away. Adding a c anchored long plank (yellow) to it will lengthen it, that is why this is helpful to start a long ramp, but be sure to secure all components with a b anchored invisible plank (red) as the planks may flop and sway, causing fear and danger to the mice.



Other Fun Items

Usually pointless items that can also be built. Such things are often built by trolls or Shamans that have already herded the mice to the hole and want to kill time.
